“I’m the luckiest dance instructor in the world,” says Vicki G. Riordan (67 years old), creator and artistic director of Vicki’s Tap Pups, the world’s largest adult tap studio. This mini-documentary filmed and edited by Daniel Robinson (Broadway actor/dancer and film director) explores some intimate backstage moments of her 16th annual spring show where Vicki shares some scenes of rehearsals, performances and special moments that help define not only this exciting day, but also what makes her Tap Pups program quite possibly the most unique dance studio in the world. Based in Harrisburg, PA, Vicki’s Tap Pups studio consists of over 500 women and men (average age of 57) and 7 tap dance levels. With the majority of the dancers being Baby Boomers, this film clearly demonstrates that this generation has an unbelievable connection with dance and Vicki feels incredibly lucky to be able to give dance back to so many people. Vicki G. Riordan’s compelling story of realizing it’s never too late to live the life you want has recently been published, Encore Performance (Atria Books). www.TapPups.com
